Welcome to Good Vibes!

The purpose of Good Vibes is to be an outlet for opinions and ideas on literature, music, art, and the everyday grind of life. The different types of posts that I’ve written offer insight on the content and ideas of different songs, books, and poetry, as well as feature some of my own written content. The name “Good Vibes” originates from my percussion experience, as I play and love the vibraphone; the double meaning of the name also expresses the stress-free and positive lifestyle I try (and usually lack at) emulating.

Some of you may be thinking why I chose to start a blog, and my answer is one most people respond with when they try something new: school. Though this was originally a project for me, I am ecstatic about its continuance, and I hope my enthusiasm spreads to those of you who continue reading Good Vibes.

Before you invest your time reading some random person’s blog, here’s a little about me: I’m an enthusiast of many different liberal studies, play percussion, piano, and a bit of clarinet, and enjoy reading, specifically fantasy genres. I also LOVE chess and playing cards. While writing hasn’t always been my number one hobby, it’s a great opportunity to express and connect to other people with common interests and understand each other.

Hopefully at this part you haven’t been scared away yet…. For a sneak peak on what’s to come, the different literature topics that I have and will feature in the future include analysis and examples of poetry, different book reviews, and many other topics. Musically, I plan on analyzing and reviewing different songs, bands, and genres. Occasionally, I post on different social and art movements that are going on.

As E.L. Doctorow, an American novelist, editor, and professor said: “Writing is an exploration. You start from nothing and learn as you go.” Similar to that idea, Good Vibes is a clean slate, and will evolve as I, you, and the rest of society changes. Some of you out there may be thinking “Oh, this must be totally planned out” or some other notion that would certainly reassure me, but be warned that I’m still laying the foundation to this crazy adventure, and EVERYTHING is subject to change. I appreciate you embarking on this voyage with me, and hope to see you at the end of the tunnel!
